About Me

My name is Valerie Ingalls, and I am Doctoral Candidate in the University of Iowa’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have B.A. with Honors in Psychology from Saint Olaf College. My research interests include acquired hearing disorders such as age-related hearing loss and tinnitus, genomics, risk modeling, musicians’ health, and the sources of variation in hearing physiology among individuals with overall healthy hearing. I intend to complete my Ph.D. in Spring 2026 and am currently on the job market, so please feel free to reach out with any questions or other inquiries!
